COMPUTER REPAIRS & LAPTOP REPAIRS
The repair required on your computer may not be viable due to cost but more often than not all the data is still retrievable via a data recovery procedure and your data can be transferred onto other storage media or a new computer.
The cost of data retrieval depends on the amount of data stored/required from the hard drive but on average is around £45.00 Although the ‘data’ is recoverable this does not include the installed programs on the drive, you will need the original discs and licences and have to re-intall them again.
MEDIA WE CAN RECOVER DATA FROM
Computer hard drives
Laptop hard drives including (SSD) Solid State Drives
Solid state media such as SD and micro SD Cards, Compact Flash, Memory Stick Pro, XD, CF, MMC, TF, M2.
USB Data Sticks
External USB connected hard drives or backup drives
We also repair data sticks that have been broken to a point that we can then recover the data.
WHEN DATA RECOVERY MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE
In these situations we may advise sending the drive to a dedicated hard drive repair company who have special dust free rooms where they can use donor hard drives to repair your hard drive and then recover the data. This is a lengthy and expensive procedure with no guarantees and tend to be used when the data required is ‘mission critical’.
WHEN IT’S NOT A COMPUTER FAILURE
Lets face it, most of us don’t do regular backups. When disaster strikes it can cause havoc, not to mention stress when you realise that Databases, spreadsheets, accounting packages, word documents, photo’s, music, emails and email contacts are all gone!
Accidently lost or deleted college work – That essay that needs to be in tomorrow!
That report or presentation that took hours has been accidentally deleted.
The hard drive has been formatted – all your photo’s and music wiped.
Virus attack, where have all my emails and contacts gone?
So, when the worst happens bring it to us, we have a fantastic track record for successful data recovery for our customers.
SLOWING TO A CRAWL? GIVE US A CALL
WHY DOES MY COMPUTER SLOW DOWN ?
Computers cannot physically slow down, Hard drives spin at a constant ‘Revs per minute’ value.
SLOWNESS IS AN ILLUSION
From the day you turn on a new computer ‘fragmentation’ starts. It is caused by the continual stream of information entering and leaving your computer. It’s not only just your data though…connect it to today’s ‘always on internet’ and the problem raises sharply as it has to cope with updates, cookies, downloads, spam, toolbars, temporary files, history – the list goes on, it’s a constant battle.
ADD TO THIS
Pre-installed programs – Program makers usually pay the manufacturers to pre-install their programs which are either ‘trial versions’ or ‘old versions’ hoping you will use them and buy them, either way you probably won’t need or use them, these programs are set to run every time you start your computer affecting its boot up time.
